Koen van Leuven

Koen is Marsh’s Head of Marine, Cargo & Logistics Europe, leading the team across Europe. He oversees more than 150 marine brokers with over USD 700 million in placed premium, including 15 brokers and 8 claims handlers in the Netherlands. He secures capacity for complex commodity supply chains, drives placements, negotiates terms, and leads escalation in stressed markets.

Koen joined Marsh in August 2024, first leading the Netherlands MCL team before taking responsibility for Europe. Prior to Marsh, he spent 16 years at AIG, where he most recently served as Head of Marine for AIG UK and Talbot Syndicate 1183, and previously as Head of Marine EMEA. With around 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, he brings strong insurer-side insight and deep market relationships.
Koen holds a law degree from Erasmus University and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management.
