Richard Weurding

Richard Weurding has been Managing Director of the Dutch Association of Insurers (Verbond van Verzekeraars) since 2006. Having joined the Association in 1987, he has held a range of policy and management positions throughout his career. His areas of expertise include employment conditions in the insurance sector, legal expenses insurance, fraud prevention and non-life insurance. In 2000, Richard joined the Association’s management team, before being appointed Managing Director in 2006.

Alongside his role at the Dutch Association of Insurers, Richard is a member of the Executive Committee of Insurance Europe. He also represents VNO-NCW on the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER) and serves on the Executive Board of VNO-NCW.

With almost four decades of experience at the Dutch Association of Insurers, Richard brings extensive knowledge of the Dutch and European insurance sector.
