
Timothy Kennedy
Based in New York, Timothy serves as the Director of Marine Loss Control Services, overseeing a global team of marine loss control specialists dedicated to supporting underwriting decisions across the international marine insurance market. With 20 years of experience in marine operations and insurance risk management, Timothy is widely recognized for combining technical expertise with strategic leadership.
Timothy’s experience in the many facets of marine insurance include commercial brown-water shipping, project cargo, port and terminal operations, and supply chain security. His ability to communicate complex technical findings in a clear, actionable manner has made him a valued partner for insurance leaders, risk managers, and maritime operators around the world.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the US-based Marine Insurance Claims Association (MICA), as Chair of the American Institute of Marine Underwriters (AIMU) Loss Prevention Committee and is a founding member of the Northeast Cargo Security Council. He holds professional certifications in marine surveying and transportation security, was a US Coast Guard licensed mariner, and holds a degree in Maritime Operations and Technology from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
